MATERIALS — Fleisher's or Bucilla 100% Imported French Angora "A", 23 balls and
Bear Brand Tricolaine or Fleisher's Silhouette "B", 1 skein.
Bucilla 14-inch Plastic Needles, 1 pair Size 8.
Bucilla Plastic Crochet Hook, Size 5.

KNITTED GAUGE: 5 sts = 1 inch

With A, cast on 302 sts loosely. P 70, place a marker before next st, * p 27, place a marker before next st; repeat from * 5 times, p 70. Carry up markers for decreasing.

Pattern—† With A, k 1 row, p 1 row for 10 rows; drop A. With B, * k to within 2 sts of marker, k 2 tog.—a dec.—; repeat from * 6 times; k to end; 295 sts. P 1 row. Break off B. With A, k 1 row, p 1 row for 10 rows; drop A. With B, k, decreasing 1 st after each marker; 288 sts. P 1 row; break off B. Repeat from † 3 times; then repeat first 12 rows of pat. once more; 239 sts. With A, k 1 row, p 1 row for 10 rows. Bind off. The k side is right side.

FINISHING—With A, from right side, on cast-on edge, work 1 sc in each of first 71 sts, * 2 sc in next st, 1 sc in each of next 3 sts; repeat from * 39 times, 1 sc in each st to end of row; continue sc across short side in­creasing in corners to keep edge even; on bound-off edge, 1 sc in each of first 66 sts, * skip next st, 1 sc in each of next 3 sts; repeat from * 26 times, 1 sc in each st to end; continue sc on 2nd short side; join with slip st in first st. Fasten off.
